Kangaroo & Company To Say Hi!

Can you believe I purchased the Kangaroo & Company stamp set months ago and it is now just seeing ink? The critters are so stinkin' adorable too. The momma kangaroo die cuts a slit for the pouch so you can add the baby kangaroo. I also added a kid kangaroo sitting on momma's tail. I added three kangaroos to join momma because I have three grand-girls!

You can see in the photo above how I tucked the baby in the pouch. Once I had all of my kangaroos inked and stamp with Soft Suede Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock, I used a Water Painter to spread some of the ink from the inked lines. It's a very subtle coloring. Just enough to add a little bit of shading.

Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. Our theme this week is Blue Bayou. Blue is my favorite color so I had fun with this one. I used the Simply Succulents Bundle and I'm happy to report that this bundle will carry over into our new Annual Catalog on May 4th. Look at all of the beautiful layers I added to my flower pot:

I also used my Stampin' Blends Markers to color the succulent flowers. It was fun to add a splash of Flirty Flamingo to the tips of each petal:

I really love the wording of the sentiment. Don't you?

Card Recipe:
  • Card Base: Balmy Blue Cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". Score and fold at 4-1/4".
  • Layer #2: Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Night Of Navy Cardstock 5" x 3-3/4". Emboss using the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder. Glue to card front.
  • Layer #4: Stamp the sentiment using Night Of Navy Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Cut with the Wild Rose Dies and glue to card front at the right.
  • Flowers & Flower Pot: Follow these steps:
    • Flower Pot: Stamp the flower pot image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Color with Balmy Blue, Night Of Navy and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Markers. Cut with the die and glue to the bottom left of the card front.
    • Diecut branches: Cut several branches using the different dies with Basic White and Balmy Blue Cardstocks. Glue above the flower pot.
    • Stamped Succulents: Stamp three succulent flowers using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Color with Balmy Blue, Night Of Navy and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Markers. Cut with the die. Glue one flower flat at the top and glue the other two flowers using Stampin' Dimensionals below the first flower.
    • Diecut Succulents: Using the die, cut three succulents using Balmy Blue Cardstock. Tuck and glue under the stamped succulents.
  • Bling: Add Champagne Rhinestone Jewels to the background.

January Facebook Live Online Workshop!

Warning! Lots of projects today. I hope you don't mind! I'm late posting these projects from my January Online Facebook Workshop. I was doing monthly workshops on the first Thursday of each month, but had to put those on hold when Dave required more care at home. During my workshops, I always start out with a technique or a card fold. January was the Multiple Embossing Powders Technique. I used Silver, Gold and for the third color, I made my own color using Flirty Flamingo. You'll learn how to do this in my video at the end of my post.

The embossing is so shiny and pretty and the addition of sentiments and diecuts from the Forever & Always Bundle. I also added Champagne Rhinestone Jewels to each mini flower.

Next up, I used the Dandy Garden Memories & More Cards & Envelopes to create two cards and a cute treat box. I kept the Bumblebee color to make these projects Monochromatic:

And finally, these three cards were all part of my free card kits along with a free spool of ribbon for the Make & Takes earned for free with a qualifying order:

I used the Sand & Sea Designer Paper, Seashells 3D Embossing Folder and the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle. The embossing folder and bundle will carry over into our new Annual Catalog that starts in May!

Check out my video to learn how to create all of the projects I showed you today. If your electronic device does not permit you to click on my video, I have included a clickable link below:

Pocket Card Fold with Easel and Paper Blooms Designer Paper!

Good Morning and welcome to my blog! I am so glad you stopped in to visit with me today. Before I talk about my pocket card today, I thought I would update you on my hubby Dave. This man keeps beating the odds. I have never seen such a determined person. May 1st will mark one year since we were told there were no more cancer treatment options, and that Dave only had two months to live. We don't know what's coming ahead but live one day at a time. Dave is still bedridden but our hospice team is working on getting a stand-up lift for us to use. Because the sciatica pain was so severe, Dave could no longer walk because of the pain. Now that the pain has been under control for a few weeks, we need to get his legs working again. He wants to get out of bed so badly. His appetite is better and he is sleeping well at night. No more hallucinations. He still has a little bit of confusion but that may be due to the 24/7 morphine he is on to control the pain.

I know a lot of you have sent me messages to make sure I am taking care of myself, but that's hard to do when you care for someone. I don't have family of my own close-by to help and because of covid, I limit who comes into our home. I was not going to take the vaccine because I'm just worried about what is going into my arm, but for Dave's sake, I decided I needed to. I get my 2nd dose this Friday. I did feel yucky for three days on my first one so hopefully this one won't be any worse. What I struggle with the most, is not being able to go anywhere.  There are days that I almost feel depressed because I feel trapped in our home. I have not seen my Mom since February of 2020 and I have not seen my grandkids and kids since October 2020. I try not to think of that because that is what brings me down.

Most of you have asked and wondered how I have been able to maintain my Stampin' Up! business while being a caretaker, it's my saving grace. When I start getting down or when Dave naps, I go to my stamp room to create. At night is usually when I blog, sometimes completing a few posts for the week ahead. I can't imagine not having a hobby to fall back on to keep me sane while going through this all. I thank all of my customers for keeping me going!

Today's Pocket Card Fold is unique in that it has an easel on the back so it stands up for displaying. My friend Jane Carlisle from Canada sent me a card for Christmas with this easel and I fell in love with it. Because I live only 10 minutes away from the Canadian border, Jane used to come to my classes.

You'll notice that the designer paper is from Sale-A-Bration which has now ended, but you can substitute with any pattern you like. I even have a video for you below!

You can now view my video below. If your electronic device does not permit you to click on the video, I have also included a clickable link below:
