Control Freaks September Blog Hop!

Good evening and welcome to our September Control Freaks Blog Hop. This month we are creating Autumn or Halloween themed projects. If you are starting the hop with me or arrived here from my talented teammate Cindy Elam's blog, I will direct you to the next person in the hop at the bottom of my post.

For my two projects, I created one Halloween card and one Autumn card:

First off is my Halloween card. I used the Wonderfully Wicked stamp set, the Winter Woods stamp set and the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder:

Card Recipe:
  • Card Base: Basic Black Cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". Score and fold at 4-1/4".
  • Layer #2: Pumpkin Pie Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Emboss with the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder and glue to card base.
  • Layer #2: Gray Granite Cardstock cut with the Stitched Rectangles Die that measures 4-3/8" x 3". Using the 2" Circle Punch, create a stencil by cutting a hole in a scrap piece of cardstock. Sponge White Ink using a Sponge Dauber in the top right of the rectangle. Stamp the trees, two bats and the sentiment using Memento Black Ink. Add Pumpkin Pie Ink to the trees. Set aside.
  • Ribbon: Wrap Black Satin Ribbon around the rectangle and glue to the back. Create a double-bow with the ribbon and glue to the left on top of the strip of ribbon using Mini Glue Dots. Glue rectangle to card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add some Noble Peacock Rhinestones (purple) to the background.

For my Autumn card I used the Come To Gather stamp set, Gathered Leaves Dies and the Come To Gather Designer Paper. I completed my card by adding some Ice Stampin' Glitter on my top layers. I love the chunky look of this glitter:

Card Recipe:
  • Card Base: Pretty Peacock Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Old Olive Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Designer Paper 5" x 3-3/4". Glue to card front.
  • Layer #4: Calypso Coral Cardstock cut with the largest Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Stamp the sentiment at the top using Pretty Peacock Ink. Glue label to card front centered using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Leaves: Stamp one leaf image using Pretty Peacock Ink on Whisper White Cardstock and color using the inked lines and a Blender Pen. Cut out with the die. Cut two more leaves using the yellow and green Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock Sheets. Glue the vellum leaves to card front flat. Glue the stamped leaf using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Glitter: Add about 5-6 drops of Tombow Multipurpose Glue to a container and add water to thin using an Aqua Painter. Take the Aqua Painter with thinned glue and splatter the front of the card. Quickly sprinkle the glitter over the glue and allow to dry. Remove excess glitter.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. Don't forget to hop to all of my teammates and I will now direct you to Julie Davison's blog. I know all of her projects will be fantastic along with all of my teammates projects. Have a good week!
