Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. It's "Back To School" time in most areas near you so we thought we would use that as our theme this week. My granddaughter Kaitynn started 6th grade. So hard to believe!

For my card this week, I used a new bundle from the Holiday Catalog called Harvest Hellos that coordinates with the Apple Builder Punch. You can purchase both products at a 10% discount when you bundle them together. Let's take a closer look at my card:

I opted to use a piece of ruled paper to make it look more school-y. Do you see that shimmer and shine on my apple? I love the chunky look of our Ice Stampin' Glitter. I use our Tombow Multipurpose Glue and spread the adhesive all over my apple and pressed the glitter in place. Here's a close-up photo:

I also used our new Toile Tidings Glimmer Enamel Dots in the background to embellish:

Card Recipe:
  • Card Base: Poppy Parade Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Crumb Cake Cardstock 4-1/2" x 3-1/4". Glue to card base at an angle.
  • Layer #3: Notebook Paper 4-1/2" x 3-1/4". Add a third hole to the left side. Glue in place at an angle. Stamp the sentiment at the top using Soft Suede Ink.
  • Apple: Stamp the Apple with Poppy Parade Ink. Color with the inked lines and a Blender Pen. Add Tombow Multipurpose Glue to the apple and press the Ice Stampin' Glitter inplace. Glue apple to card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. Stamp the stem with Soft Suede Ink and the leaf with Call Me Clover. Color both using the inked lines and a Blender Pen. Glue in place on card front.
  • Bow: Use two pieces of Linen Thread to create a double bow and glue below the apple.
  • Add some Toile Tidings Glimmer Dots in the background.
