Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. Flower Power is our theme this week and I thought the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape would be a big hit on my card today:

washi, stampin up, paper crafting, greeting cards, card, cards, scrapbooking

If you do not have this washi tape yet.......oh my! This is the first time I use it and oh what fun! It's a actual roll of flower washi tape with peel-and-stick flower petals so you can create your own flowers. You can see here in this photo, a close-up of my two layers of petals:

You can create a card just like mine by using these steps:
  • Card Base: Merry Merlot Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Pretty Petals Designer Paper 5-1/4" x 4". Glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Pretty Petals Designer Paper 5" x 2". Cut the bottom into a banner using the Banner Triple Punch. Glue to card front about 1/2" from the left.
  • Layer #4: Pretty Petals Designer Paper 4" x 3/4". Set aside.
  • Layer #5: Mossy Meadow Cardstock 4" long. Cut the fancy edge using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. Glue to the underside of Layer #4 and glue to card front about 2-1/4" from the bottom. Wrap White Baker's Twine around twice and tie into a bow.
  • Layer #6: Whisper White Cardstock cut with the largest circle from the Stitched Shape Dies. Glue to card front as shown.
  • Washi Flower: Peel and stick 8 flower petals in the center of the white circle to form the base of the flower. Add 8 more petals over the first layer. TIP: I used my Embossing Buddy to add powder to the tips of each petal on the 2nd layer so they wouldn't stay glued down flat. Add a Perennial Essence Floral Center to the flower.
  • Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set using Mossy Meadow Ink. Cut with the Classic Label Punch. Insert the shape back into the punch to make it shorter. Glue to card front using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stampin' Up! products used:
  • Stamps: Itty Bitty Greetings

  • Cardstock: Merry Merlot, Whisper White, Mossy Meadow
  • Designer Paper: Pretty Petals
  • Accessories: White Bakers Twine, Perennial Essence Floral Centers, Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape
