Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. Our Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog is going LIVE in just four more days! To help you decide what you should add to your Wish List, we are all showing our "Favorite Holiday Catalog Stamp Set" this week. I opted to use Elfie. The elf images are totally cute! Here's what I mean:

This little elf reminds me of my childhood and the elf that played in the Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer movie. This movie still plays each and every year right before Christmas and it's still so popular with kids.

After I stamped my images on Whisper White Cardstock using Memento Black Ink, I colored using Stampin' Blends Markers. You can see a close-up of my coloring here in this photo:

Did you notice the pretty designer paper I used in the background? It's a "must have" and should be added to your Wish List. The designer paper is called Brightly Gleaming and each sheet has some copper foil accents on one side. You can see how shiny the copper foil accents are below:

Card Measurements:
  • Card Base: Pretty Peacock Cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". Score and fold at 4-1/4'. 
  • Layer #2: Brightly Gleaming Designer Paper 4-1/2" x 3-1/4. Cut two patterns this size and cut them both at an angle. Glue two pieces from the two different patterns together to form a square on the card base.
  • Layer #3: Crumb Cake Cardstock cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies5-1/8" x 3-3/4" and 4" x 2-5/8".  Cut a 2nd piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock 5" x 1". Glue to the backside of the frame at an angle. Glue over the designer paper layer using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Stamped Images: Stamp all images on Whisper White Cardstock using Memento Black Ink. Color with Stampin' Blends and hand-cut all images. Glue in place on card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. 
  • Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White Cardstock using Memento Black Ink. Cut using the Classic Label Punch and glue to the diagonal strip using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots to the background.
