Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. This week our theme is "watercolored backgrounds". I did a quick & simple colored background on the Whisper White Cardstock layer of this card with an Aqua Painter and Balmy Blue Ink:

Once the cardstock was dry and layered, I added an assortment of stamped images and layers from the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears Thinlits Dies. You can see close-ups of the layers in the two photos below:

My recipe for today's card:
  • Card Base: Gray Granite 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". Score and fold at 4-1/4".
  • Layer #2: Real Red Cardstock 5" x 3-3/4". Glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Whisper White Cardstock 4-3/4" x 3-1/2". Use an Aqua Pen and Balmy Blue Ink to add color to the background. Stamp the splatter stamp image a few times over the watercolored background using Gray Granite Ink. Glue to card front.
  • Stamp and cut the following stamped images with the dies: Sentiment using Balmy Blue Cardstock and Memento Black Ink. Car using Real Red Cardstock and Memento Black Ink. Gas Can using Pineapple Punch Cardstock and Memento Black Ink. Tool Box using Gray Granite Cardstock and Memento Black Ink. Several Gears using Basic Black Cardstock. Glue and layer everything but the car flat to card front. Glue the car using Stampin' Dimensionals.
