Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. Are you ready for some "shades of green" inspiration? That's what our team is designing today and this is my card:

The shades of green I used are Granny Apple Green and Garden Green. Don't they pair well together? I used the Butterfly Gala stamp set to stamp the whole background with the same image and then I stamped one set of butterflies in the lighter shade to add a little bit of interest. The two lighter butterflies are glued directly over the darker set with Stampin' Dimensionals. Oh and don't forget the bling, lots and lots of bling!

Here's how I made this card:

  • Card Base: Garden Green Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Granny Apple Green Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Whisper White Cardstock 5" x 3-3/4". Stamp the butterfly image repeatedly in vertical lines using Garden Green Ink. Glue to card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Layer #4: Garden Green Cardstock 3-3/4" x 3/4". Glue to the bottom of the white layer about 1/4" from the bottom.
  • Layer #5: Whisper White Cardstock 3-1/2" x 1/2". Stamp the sentiment using Granny Apple Green Ink and cut the ends in to a banner using the Tailored Tag Punch. Glue to Garden Green Cardstock banner using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Butterflies: Stamp the butterflies using Granny Apple Green Ink and cut out with the Butterfly Duet Punch. Glue over the Garden Green butterflies using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add lots of Rhinestone Jewels on the white background layer.
