Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. If you love Valentine's and 3D projects, you'll love our blog hop this week. We are all creating Valentine's Favor's and this is mine:

I've had our new Sweet Cups for quite some time now. You'll find them in our 2019 Occasions Catalog. I haven't had much time to play with them so that's what I decided to use for my project. Before I explain an easy way to add the designer paper to the side, take a peek at some of the detail on my lid:

I used the Be Mine Stitched Dies and the coordinating Meant To Be stamp set. Some of the dies are so intricate and elegant, like the flower die-cut in Lovely Lipstick Cardstock. I also used the All My Love Designer Paper for some of the layers. Notice the sides of my lid? I actually glued ribbon around the whole side using Tear & Tape and the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack. I finished off the front of the cup with a cute sentiment cut with the Pretty Label Punch:

Want to see my easy tip on how to decorate the side of my cup? I actually took the cup bottom apart on one of the cups so that I could use it as a pattern. You can see here how I used it as a pattern to trace on the designer paper so I could cut it out and glue it in place around the cup:

Here are the steps I used to decorate my cup:

Cup Bottom:
  • Take apart a bottom of the cup to use as a pattern.
  • Using the new pattern you just created, trace over a sheet of designer paper. Add an additional 1/2" on one end.
  • Cut the designer paper pattern with Paper Snips.
  • Add Tombow Multipurpose Glue over the designer paper you just cut. This will allow wiggle room when setting the designer paper on your cup.
  • Place designer paper over a new cup bottom and wiggle into place, overlapping the ends.
  • Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White Cardstock using Lovely Lipstick Ink. Cut out with the Pretty Label Punch and glue to cup front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Cup Topper:
  • Add Tear & Tape around the whole side of the cup.
  • Peel backing from Tear & Tape and press the All My Love Ribbon around the lid and trim the end.
  • Using the Layering Circle Framelits Dies and Crumb Cake Cardstock, cut a circle that measures 2-3/4" wide. Glue to the top of the lid using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Using the Layering Circle Framelits Dies and Flirty Flamingo Cardstock, cut a circle that measures 2-5/8" wide. Glue over the crumb cake circle using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Using Blushing Bride Cardstock, stamp the heart image using VersaMark Ink and sprinkle with White Embossing Powder. Melt the powder with a Heat Tool. Trace the inside of the embossing with a Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Maker. Cut the heart out with the die and glue to to top of the lid using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Cut one small heart using the same designer paper as the bottom of the cup. Glue to the top of the lid using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Using Lovely Lipstick Cardstock, cut the delicate flower die and glue on top of the large heart.
