Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. We are all featuring our favorite Occasions Catalog product today. There are so many on my list of favorites so I just picked up two new stamp sets and created mirror-image cards:

Most of you know that Dave and I have a beagle dog named Ruger and I think the dog image from the Happy Tails stamp set looks identical to him. Tell me what you think when you look at this photo:

I was also excited when I spied a new cat set called Nine Lives to coordinate with our Cat Punch. So here is a listing of all of the new products I used on both cards:
  • Happy Tails Stamp Set
  • Nine Lives Stamp Set
  • Dog Builder Punch
  • Classic Garage Designer Paper
  • Dot To Dot Embossing Folder
  • Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots
And individual photos of each card:

And here are the layers I used on each card:
  • Card Base: Sahara Sand Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold in half at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Poppy Parade or Shaded Spruce Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4", embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.
  • Layer #3: Classic Garage Designer Paper 5" x 3-3/4", embossed with the Dot To Dot Embossing Folder and sanded by hand.
  • Layer #4: Banner using the Classic Garage Designer Paper 4" x 2". Cut with the Banner Triple Punch
  • Layer #5: Banner using Poppy Parade or Shaded Spruce Cardstock 4" x 3/4". Cut with the Banner Triple Punch and embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.
  • Layer #6: Sentiment stamped on Whisper White Cardstock. Dog Card: 3-1/8" x 1". Cat Card: 3-1/8" x 1-1/4". Stamp using Poppy Parade or Shaded Spruce Inks.
  • Animals: Cat is stamped with Smoky Slate Ink and Dog is stamped with Crumb Cake Ink. When stamping the detail, stamp on scrap first and then on the animal to create a lighter shade. Animals are glued with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots to the background.

I love how the pets are facing each other when I place the cards side-by-side. Thanks for visiting me today!
