Control Freaks November Blog Hop Home For The Holidays!

Welcome to a "Home For Christmas" themed Blog Hop hosted by the Control Freaks for November! If you have arrived here at my blog through LeeAnn Greff's blog, weren't her projects perfect for our theme this month?  If you keep reading, I'll direct you to the next person taking part in the hop at the bottom of my post.

Now on to my two projects. I brought back two stamp sets that carried over into the Annual Catalog and I actually replicated the first two layers on both cards to create in indoor card and an outdoor card:

For my indoor card, I used the Wood Textures Designer Paper to replicate the old-fashioned paneling for my wall. My parents used to have one room in our house with this exact same color and print! Too funny! I love the little puppy dog image from the Ready For Christmas stamp set. Doesn't he look like he's all ready for Christmas?

All of the images were stamped in Memento Black Ink and colored with Blends Markers. The coordinating Christmas Staircase Thinlits Dies were used to cut out all of the images you see on the card. Did you notice the embossing on the staircase?

For my outdoor card, I used the same designer paper layer but this time I embossed it with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder and before I removed my paper from the embossing folder, I sanded the bumps to reveal the white core of the paper. I thought it was neat that this made the paper look like siding on a house:

For this card I used the At Home With You stamp set and coordinating At Home Framelits Dies. Aren't the boughs pretty stamped on Pear Pizzazz Cardstock? And notice my tiny sentiment layer on the wreath? I have a photo below to show you how I did this:

I used the Classic Label Punch to cut the sentiment and the shape was too long to add on top of my wreath image so I re-inserted the shape inside the punch to snip off more cardstock on each end like this:

It's now time to visit my teammate Cindy Elam. You can visit her blog by clicking on the next button below and I just know you be in for some more great inspiration. Thanks for visiting today!
