Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop featuring the May 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit. This month, our kit was geared towards the men in our lives. I love creating masculine cards and this kit was a lot of fun. So our team members all create one alternative card and one 3D project for the blog hop each month and these are my projects for May:
First up is my treat box. I actually used one of the card bases to score and assemble my treat box:
Want to create one of your own? Here's how:
For creating the box, use one of the card bases with the wood grain pattern and score as follows:
- Starting on the long side and at the wood grain, score at 1/2", 3-3/4", 6" and 9-1/4". Turn cardstock on the short side and score at 1/2". Snip the short scored wood grain ends at an angle. Snip at each score long on the long side to create the tabs. See Photo 1.
- Fold on all score lines and glue the sides of the box by gluing the small tab to the inside of the box. Fold over the tabs for the bottom of the box and glue to each other. Photo 2.
- Cut a small piece of cardstock measuring 3-1/8" x 2-1/8" and glue to the bottom of the box. Photo 3.
I turned the card side-ways and added Linen Thread on the small flap and then adhered a few of the stickers to the white side of the badge to create the small scenery:
Before I glued the badge in place, I added a few layers to the card by using the flap of the envelope that I cut off for a previous project and then added strip of Mint Macaron Cardstock above that. Did you notice the two small banners I tucked under the badge? I hope you enjoyed my projects for this month. I will now direct you to Kimberley Morris:
