Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. Our team is creating projects using our "Favorite New Product" from the upcoming 2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. My choice for today is the Sitting Pretty stamp set & coordinating Pretty Park Dies. I love the stamp image with the bench and there's also another bench you can cut with dies. I love them both and am featuring the stamped bench for today's card:

I created a little scenery for you and did something a little different that I'll explain a little later. As you can see, the dies cut my bench, the puppy dog and the spider plant. I also added a die-cut heart in the center of the bench:

You'll notice that I also stamped some pavers on the ground. No, there isn't a paver stamp so I created my own. I used one glue dot on the back of the die and stuck it to a clear block to make my own stamp. Haha, bingo, it worked! I inked the bumps on the die with ink and stamped on the cardstock. Clever huh? This is what my new stamp looks like glued to the block:

Now I'll list all of my layers so you can create a card just like this one:

  • Card Base: Cajun Craze Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Pool Party Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Stamp the spider plant image repeatedly, some without re-inking along the center of the cardstock with Garden Green Ink. Set aside.
  • Layer #3: Use a piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock that measures 4" wide to stamp the pavers on using Basic Gray Ink. I used a Stampin' Pierce Mat under my cardstock layer. Hand-cut the top to the shape of the stamped image. Glue to card front below the spider plants. Glue the layer to card front.
  • Stamped Images: Stamp all three images using Smoky Slate Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Stamp the detail for the dog using Crumb Cake Ink. Stamp the detail for the plant using Garden Green and Cajun Craze Ink. Cut all 3 image using th dies. Glue the plant to card front flat. Glue the bench and dog in place using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Heart: Cut out one heart using the die and Cajun Craze Cardstock. Glue to the bench.
  • Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment at the top left using Cajun Craze Ink.
