Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. This week we are all featuring animals on our projects. I chose the Beautiful Peacock and of course, featured a peacock for my animal:

I chose to stamp my peacock with her train of feathers not showing. I must confess that I had to look up the term for the display of feathers and it is indeed called a train. This is also something a peacock does during mating season. I did not know that either. So there's a lesson for today!

I also added a few of the Petal Passion Embellishments that I thought looked kind of neat with the swirly background that I created:

Card Recipe:
  • Card Base: Calypso Coral 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Daffodil Delight Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Glue to card base even with the left edge.
  • Layer #3: Whisper White Cardstock 5" x 3-3/4". Repeatedly stamp the swirly images using Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight Inks. Glue to card front even with the left edge.
  • Layer #4: Glue a Delicate Lace Doily to the center of the card front.
  • Layer #5: Calypso Coral Cardstock cut with the Layering Circles Dies, 2-1/2". Glue to the center of the doily.
  • Layer #6: Whisper White Cardstock cut with the Layering Circles Dies, 2-1/4". Cut once and turn the die enough to cut into the scallop edges a 2nd time. This will create pointy edges. Stamp the peacock and sentiment using Calypso Coral Ink. Glue to the center of Layer #5 using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Embellish: Add 3 of the embellishments in place as shown in the photo with Glue Dots.
Supplies Used:
