Let The Good Times Roll!

Stampin' Up! is celebrating 30 years of being in business, all year long with us. For all demonstrators, we receive a 30-year pin in our first order after January 1st. I received mine a few weeks ago and forgot to show it to you. Lookie:

 #StampinUp30

How neat! So now on to a new project. Today's feature is a new stamp set called "Let the Good Times Roll". This stamp set has coordinating Thrill Ride Pop-up Dies too. And a reminder that if you purchase both products together as a bundle, you save 10%. This is what the bundle looks like:

The roller coaster die is the part that creates a "pop-up" for the inside of the card. I opted not to use this die on the card I am featuring today, but here's a photo from Stampin' Up! showing you what it looks like:

Next time I use this set, I promise to do the inside for you! So this is my card for today:

I have several layers of designer papers on my card and then I created my own version of a triple-layer roller coaster. It was fun to stamp and cut all the little roller coaster cars, the sun and the little cart with grass behind it:

Here's what I used:
  • Stamps: Let The Good Times Roll
  • Inks: Smoky Slate, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Emerald Envy
  • Cardstock: Whisper White, Emerald Envy
  • Accessories: Emerald Envy 3/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Tools: Thrill Ride Pop-Up Dies, Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Designer Paper: Bubbles & Fizz, Myths & Magic
  • Card Base: Emerald Envy 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Bubbles & Fizz Designer Paper 5-1/4" x 4". Glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Myths & Magic Designer Paper 5" x 3". Set aside.
  • Roller Coaster: Stamp the roller coaster image 3 times on Whisper White Cardstock using Smoky Slate Ink. Cut all three out by hand. Glue layered over Layer #2 and staggering the curves of the roller coaster. Trim the ends.
  • Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 3" x 1/2" using Emerald Envy Ink. Glue to Layer #3 about 1-3/4" from the top.
  • Ribbon: Cut two pieces of ribbon about 1" long and glue to the underside of Layer #3 folded. Glue layer to card front at an angle
  • Stamped images: Stamp the sun, roller coaster cards, grass and cart using the ink listed in the supply list. Cut out with the dies and glue in place. The sun and cart are glue using Stampin' Dimensionals.

  1. I love that bundle but worry how hard it will be to pop up a curved line. I will get a lot of use out of this as I grew up near Willow Grove Park with its three coasters (different heights and scare value) and we often had grade school trips there. I can use it at least once for my school friends. Love your card. Great colors. I had no idea I would get a pin (as a very new demonstrator). How wonderful! Thanks for posting that. When I use the iPad I cannot access all that is in the Tuesday mailings so I wait until I "crank up" the old lap top and read a few weeks worth at a time. Thank you for sharing your great card.
