Control Freaks January Blog Hop!

Welcome to the January Control Freaks Blog Hop! If you just arrived here from Wendy Weixler's  blog, didn't she have some fabulous projects to show you? We are all featuring projects using products from the Occasions and/or Sale-A-Bration Catalogs. I will direct you to the next stop in the blog hop at the bottom of my post.

I created three cards this month focusing on the new Brusho Crystal Colours. All of the cards are using backgrounds that I had created for a video that I posted a few weeks ago so it was easy to plop them all on a card base and add more layers. Here's the group photo:

The first card uses the Epic Celebrations stamp set which you can earn for FREE in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. I also added in some Brusho Crystal Colors for the splattered background:

To achieve the splatter in the center, I sprinkled the Brusho where I wanted the color and carefully added just a few soft squirts of water so the Brusho wouldn't spread too much. I like the way it looks paired with the Glitter Enamel Dots that I added in the background:

Card Supplies:
  • Stamps: Epic Celebrations
  • Inks: Brusho Crystal Colours, Basic Black
  • Cardstock: Pacific Point, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Glitter Enamel Dots
  • Tools: Aqua Painter, Stampin' Dimensionals, Spritzer, Paper Snips

Card #2 uses the Heart Happiness stamp set, Sure Do Love You stamp set, and Brusho Crystal Colours:

I also stamped the background using VersaMark Ink and the swirly image is from the Falling Flowers stamp set. I sprinkled White Embossing Powder and melted the powder with my Heat Tool. The Brusho was sprinkled after I wet my cardstock on the bottom and left-hand side of the cardstock layer. To finish off my card I added Metallic Enamel Shapes in the background:

Card Supplies:
  • Stamps: Heart Happiness, Sure Do Love You, Falling Flowers
  • Inks: Brusho Crystal Colours, Perfect Plum, VersaMark
  • Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes
  • Tools: White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies, Paper Snips, Spritzer

For my final card, I created a rainbow with the Brusho and then stamped with Basic Black Ink. The Waterfront stamp set was perfect for the scenery I created:

I love the cute scenery I created with just the black ink. It really stands out against the rainbow colors:

Card Supplies:
  • Stamps: Waterfront
  • Inks: Brusho, Basic Black
  • Cardstock: Tranquil Tide, Whisper White, Watercolor Paper
  • Tools: Spritzer
