Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas celebration and ready to ring in the New Year. Today is our Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary and we are all using "new stuff". I have been having a blast with our new Brusho Crystal Colours and that's what I am using today along with the new Beautiful Day stamp set. Both can be found in our upcoming Occasions 2018 Catalog.

For today's Brusho card, I actually used the Brusho as a painting medium. I high-lighted around the outside of the flower a few times to keep achieving a darker tint and I really like how this turned out:

Once my layer was good and dry, I painted around the outside of the flower using Clear Wink Of Stella. You can see a little of it in the photo below:

So how did I add so many colors of Brusho and where did I start first? Here's a photo to show you how I started with the flower image first:

Here are the steps to creating my card:
  • Card Base: Flirty Flamingo Cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". Score at 4-1/4"and fold.
  • Layer #2: Watercolor Paper 5-1/4" x 4".
  • Stamp the flower image and the sentiment using VersaMark Ink and sprinkle with White Embossing Powder. Use the Heat Tool to melt the powder.
  • Using an Aqua Painter, add water to the inside of the flower image.
  • Sprinkle the water with the orange Brusho and use the Aqua Painter to evenly distribute the color. Allow to dry completely before moving onto the next step.
  • Color the leaf with the green Brusho by sprinkling some of the green Brusho on a non-porous area and adding a few drops of water from the Aqua Painter to create a painting medium.
  • Sprinkle some of the blue Brusho on a non-porous area. Add a few drops of water from the Aqua Painter to create a painting medium. Paint the outside of the flower to create a background. Squeeze the Aqua Painter to really wet the color and paper. Keep adding blue around the flower until you are happy with the results. You'll notice that some of the orange color mixed a little with my blue on my first background layer.
  • Allow the color to dry and then color Clear Wink Of Stella to the outside of the flower.
  • Once watercolor paper is dry, glue to card front.
