Smitten Mittens Meets Cable Knit!

Hi Everyone, an FYI today for you. My hubby Dave and I traveled for a scheduled knee replacement surgery for Dave yesterday morning. He has been in a lot of pain these past few months. He will be in the hospital for three days and then transferred to a physical therapy location for at least 7 to 10 days. Please say a prayer that all goes well for his recovery!

If you contact me and I don't respond right away, I am traveling daily to be with him which is an hour and a half away from home.
I have posts scheduled daily for awhile so you should be seeing something from me here daily. I will also have my laptop and tablet with me when I have free time while he does therapy.

Today's card uses the Smittten Mittens stamp set and Many Many Dies. I also used the Cableknit Embossing Folder for the background:

The die set includes this flat pattern that presses into the mitten to add a little bit of texture. I also love that you can stamp and cut the top of the mittens in layers:

I added the red Mini Tinsel Trim at the top that is connected to each mitten. Do you remember as a young child how our mittens were attached to a long string? The purpose was to insert them into our coat sleeves so we wouldn't lose them. I wonder if those are still around?

To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with an oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. I cut a 2nd larger oval to layer over. Here are all of the Stampin' Up! supplies I used today:
