November Alaska Achievers Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Alaska Achievers November Blog Hop. All of the participants in this blog hop are Stampin' Up! demonstrators who have earned the 2018 Incentive Trip to Alaska...woohoo because that includes me!

Since we have no theme this month, I decided to use a Christmas card that I had completed and not posted here on my blog yet. I've been a little busy playing nurse for my hubby who just had knee replacement surgery last week. You'll see lots of inspiration from my teammates that I will lead you to at the end of my post.

Here's my project using the Good Tidings stamp set and the Year Of Cheer Specialty Designer Paper for one of my layers:

Notice on the photo below that I stamped the sentiment twice to create a shadow? I stamped it the first time using Crumb Cake Ink and stamped a second time, slightly to the left of the first image, with Melon Mambo Ink:

The holly and berries cluster was stamped twice and hand-cut so that I could tuck both clusters under the sentiment layer. I glued one cluster at the top of the circle and one at the bottom. The colors for the holly are Wild Wasabi & Garden Green Inks and the colors for the berries are Melon Mambo Ink, both times. On the first berry image, I stamped on a piece of scrap paper first to create a lighter effect without re-inking:

My final step was to sneak in a few of the gold Year Of Cheer Embellishments to add a little bit of bling to my card! Now it's time to visit my teammates. You can click on the person below me, Debbie Henderson, to keep hopping along! Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. I love the way you stamped your sentiment twice, making a shadow! I do that all the time with leaves, but haven't tried it (until now!) using a sentiment. Thanks for the great idea!

  2. So beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. I appreciate your comments!
