Now on to today's projects:
Week 6 of 8 was all about Clear Block Stamping, Ink Splattering and coloring with a Blender Pen for my Adult Education Class attendees. Let look at the first card:
We used Clear Block D and inked it up with Soft Sky Ink. The best way to stamp the clear block image is to stamp on the cardstock that is sitting on a Stampin' Pierce Mat. This gives the Clear Block a little bit of cushion to get a nice clean square image for the background.
Notice the cute little pink splattters? I showed the girls how to load an Aqua Painter with Melon Mambo Ink and flick the bristles by thumping the Aqua Painter on top of my index finger on the opposite hand. I love how this gives a little bit of interest to the background:
For the second card, we started by stamping the sentiment in the center and then adding the three different tree images on the whole background layer surrounding the sentiment:
I demonstrated how to press in the center of a closed ink pad repeatedly, three or four times and then opening the ink pad. On the inside of the cover, a pool of ink serves as an ink well to dip a Blender Pen in and color. I even colored the swirlies in the sentiment:
Although our 8 week class ends today, I am two weeks behind in posting the projects so look for two more posts. If you are local to me and would like to attend these classes, I will be starting the spring session the first week of March so contact our local Adult Education location to reserve your spot!
