For our blog hop today, our theme is "fun with re-inkers". Look what I made for you:

I used my re-inkers to create this beautiful background called the "Blowing Ink Technique". Have you ever heard of this? No? It's pretty easy and I'll show you how. Warning though....you need a lot of hot air!

My lovely triple-bow was created using Crushed Curry Stitched Satin Ribbon. I am so in love with all of our Stampin' Up! ribbon from the Annual Catalog. They are all so pliable and easily make single, double and triple bows!

The photo below shows you a close-up of the background?

So all you need to do is start with one drop of Re-inker and then use the straw and blow! You can turn your cardstock around to make the ink go in different directions. Here's what I did:

  • Step #1: Using Glossy Cardstock, I added Bermuda Bay Re-inker. One drop at a time and blow with the straw. I added this color 6 times. I then added in Lemon Lime Twist in a few of the white areas.
  • Step #2: I added more Lemon Lime Twist and then added some So Saffron Re-inker drops.
  • Step 3: The final color I added was Fresh Fig. Keep adding color until you are happy with the whole background and keep blowing.
  • Step 4: Allow to dry and cut to the size needed!

Card Supplies:

  • Stamps: Merry Little Labels
  • Inks: VersaMark
  • Re-inkers: Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist, So Saffron, Fresh Fig
  • Cardstock: Glossy, Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist
  • Accessories: Glitter Enamel Dots, Crushed Curry Stitched Satin Ribbon
  • Tools: Layering Circles Framelits Dies, Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Stampin' Dimensionals, Everyday Label Punch, White Embossing Powder, Heat Toool
  • Misc: Straw
