Adult Education Classes Week 8!

This week was my last Beginner's Class at our local Adult Education Center. This was the spring session that last for 8 weeks. I will be having another 8-week session in the fall starting in September so for those of you that are local, look for the announcement dates!

I demonstrated two techniques for this particular class. This card uses the "Spotlighting Technique". It means that you stamp an image with one ink color onto your cardstock layer and then stamp the exact same image on a scrap piece of cardstock. You then choose a small area of the image on the scrap piece, cut it out with a punch, color it and then glue it over the first image  as a spotlight. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to glue the spotlight in place and the stamp set I used is the Remarkable You stamp set:

For card #2, we used a pencil eraser to stamp dots around the image after stamping the butterfly layers from the Watercolor Wings stamp set.  This is called the "Bokeh Technique". Bokeh is a term used in photography to depict out of focus areas:

I made the girls an Easter treat thank you box from me for attending my classes. Aren't these adorable? They are made with the Pals Bundle that you can see below the photo:

  1. Oh my! THose treat boxes are so cute--pudgy little rabbits. Great cards too. I wondered right away about the dots, thinking they looked like the size of an eraser.
