Lots & Lots of Sympathy Cards!

I have been so speechless with all the love everyone has shown Dave and I and my family with the passing of my Dad on February 21st. Cards started arriving in our mailbox a week before he passed. I thought I would photograph them all so you could see what arrived. It was totally amazing and thank you so much. It is so important to send sympathy or thinking of your cards when someone is going through a difficult time. As card-makers, I think we all understand that.

The 3 cards above were sent to me a week before my Dad passed to let
me know my stamping friends were thinking of me and my family:

Cathy Autrey
Janet Goshorn
Nancy Farrell

The following sympathy cards were all sent after my Dad passed away:

Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowmobile Club
Daigle Oil Company
Sonja Burleigh
University of Maine (Houlton)

My last few photo's are photo's of gifts I received that were so touching to me. This is a prayer shawl sent to me by Nancy Farrell. What a great idea for someone that is grieving to have the comfort of a shawl to hug them. The packaging was so pretty with a tag and ribbon inside a cello bag:

I was so happy to see this tag inside the cello bag because I most assuredly will do this in the future for someone that is close to me who loses a loved one. I can tell you first-hand how this made me feel when I received it. Thank you Nancy for being so generous.

Isn't the Prayer Shawl gorgeous? I told Nancy how it even matches my living room!

I am going to show this next gift to my Mom the next time I visit her. I described to her how I received this angel in Janet Goshorn's card. It is beautiful. It is crafted I believe, using the "tatting" process. I have this in my bedroom where I can see it many times a day!

Another great idea I am going to use and never thought of is pre-made Thank you cards by Sarah Wills. The cards are all complete with envelopes and even postage stamps so that the family can use them to thank anyone that helped out pre-funeral and post-funeral. While at my Mom's for a few weeks, family & friends showed up with food items and other things to help out. These cards are perfect to thank them with.

Thank you so much everyone for your cards, your gifts, your emails and personal messages. And a special Thank you to Rod & Judy Beals who brought over a homemade chicken pot pie to take to my Mom's when we were getting ready to travel to make the funeral arrangements. You all know how to make a family feel special. I am honored that you all took the time to think of us.
