Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. This week or theme is Child or Teen. It took me a few days to think about what stamp set to use for this theme. I picked out two stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog that coordinate really well together:

I used the Custom Tee and the Tie Dyed. Do you like my background and my sleeveless shirt? I used Sponge Daubers to add multiple ink colors on the tie die image. It looks just like the tie dyed shirts doesn't it?

This was so much fun to play with. I just love the addition of the tiny bowtie I added to my shirt once it was all stamped and die-cut:

Here's the card recipe:
  1. Card Base: Island Indigo Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score in the center at 5-1/2" and fold.
  2. Layer #2: Wild Wasabi Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Glue to card base.
  3. Layer #3: Whisper White Cardstock 5" x 3-3/4". Use the large tie-dye stamp image and add the following ink colors with Sponge Daubers: Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Tangerine Tango. Fill the cardstock layer with the stamp image. You'll have to ink the stamp each time. TIP: It's easier to achieve multiple images if you clean the stamp and start over each time.
  4. Layer #4: Island Indigo Cardstock cut with the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Set aside.
  5. Layer #5: Stamp the sleeveless shirt image using Dapper Denim Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Cut out using the TShirt Builder Framelits Dies. Stamp the tie-dye image like you did on the background. Glue shirt to the center of the circle using Stampin' Dimensionals. Stamp the small bowtie using Dapper Denim Ink and cut out with the framelits. Glue to the shirt.
  6. Stars: Using the Stars Framelits Dies, cut one large star using Wild Wasabi Cardstock and 2 small stars using Real Red and Daffodil Delight Cardstock. Glue the large star about 1/2" from the bottom and at a angle. Stamp the sentiment and the stars image using Dapper Denim Ink. Glue the circle layer in place using Stampin' Dimensionals layered over the large star. Glue the two small stars using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. Bling: Glue one Urban Underground Embellishments star to the large star.
Stampin' Up! Supplies:
  • Stamps: Custom Tee, Tie Dyed
  • Inks: Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Tangerine Tango
  • Cardstock: Whisper White, Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight and Real Red

  2. I've been on the fence about this bundle. I think it would be lots of fun to play with, especially paper piecing. It makes for fun tye dying too. This is great and inspiration. Probably I have to have it.
