Adult Education Winter Session Week 1!

I started teaching Round #2 of the Adult Education Beginner Stamping Class this week that was a first for me last fall. I think I'll call this session the winter session because we will actually be done the 8-week session at the beginning of March. This class is a little different for me because we only have one hour. As stampers, you may know that one hour is not a lot of time to complete some projects. I always make sure we have time to complete at least 2 projects. So when you see my cards, keep in mind that I cut and emboss everything for the girls ahead of time because of time constraints.

Card #1 focused on 2-Step stamping using the Beautiful You stamp set.  The girls learned how to stamp the outline image first and then we added some color to the dress and to ground:

If you look closely at both of the colored  stamped images, you'll noticed that it's actually the same stamp that we used.  Once both colors were stamped, the sentiment was added on the bottom. Notice the cute embossing on the Sweet Sugarplum layer? That's the new Falling Petals Embossing Folder....just beautiful!

I also loved adding a 1" wide piece of the Succulent Garden Designer Paper to one side of the card. It really stands out against the other colors doesn't it?

Before I show you Card #2, these are all of the supplies I used on this card:

Card #2:

For this card, we stamped two of the small images from the Sealed With Love stamp set, to create a background for the Whisper White Cardstock layer using Real Red Ink and Pink Pirouette Ink. All of the other layers were pre-cut so all that was needed was to glue them in order. Before gluing the Pink Pirouette die-cut layer, I showed the girls how to pinch the die-cut hearts towards the front:

The last step was to stamp the large sentiment in the stitched square. Did you hear the latest? That Stampin' Up! brought back MORE of the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies this week? That's what both of the squares were cut with in the center of this card! Grab them while they are in the Online Store!

  1. Clever idea to use the skirt coloring for the ground as well. I really like that VD card!
