Merry Christmas To All!

I wanted to pop in this morning to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope you get to spend the day with family or friends. Dave and I will be traveling all day. Here is my very last Christmas card for this year! Merry Christmas!

This is a Pop Up Box Card and what is neat is that I used the Baker's Box Thinlits Dies to make it. It was so simple and quick because all of the lines are cut and scored. I then added a belt around the bottom sides and a belt buckle created with the Layering Hearts Framelits Dies and Gold Glimmer Paper. So cute!

The Santa's hats were all cut and assembled using the Jolly Hat Builder Punch, Real Red Cardstock and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I glued a toothpick to the back of each hat and glued them in place on the inside. The inside looks like this:

All you need to do is measure the inside of the box and add 1" to the measurement. Score 1/2" on each end, fold and glue in place. My strips are 1/2" wide.

And my Santa hats look like this with the toothpicks glued to the backs. The easiest way I found to glue them to the inside of the box was to use Tear & Tape around the bottom of the toothpicks and to not remove the tape backing on the backside when you press them in place.

For the buttons on each flap I used the 1/2" and 3/4" Circle Punches. The easiest way to make the button is to first punch the two small button holes with a 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch and center the holes inside the 3/4" Circle Punch. The ring on the top layer to create the faux button is made by first cutting the hole with the 1/2" Circle Punch and centering the hole in the 3/4" Circle Punch to cut a ring. Glue both pieces together and color with the Clear Wink Of Stella.

I added a piece of Whisper White Cardstock on the back to write a message on to the recipient:

When using the Baker's Box Thinlits Dies, make sure you cut two identical pieces of cardstock:

And cut off the top and the small side tab as shown. If you want your box card to fold flat once it is all assembled, you also need to cut off the two tabs on the bottom of each piece. I made mine into a box that stays open but you can do it both ways.

Have fun and Merry Christmas!
