Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

We are getting so close to Christmas and I hope you've been creating Christmas cards. This week for our Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary, we are all using Gold and White plus one other color. I chose to add Bermuda Bay to my card. Do you like?

And doesn't the Gold Foil Sheets look awesome all embossed using the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies?

When die-cutting my ornament from the Delicate Ornaments Dies, I left all the guts intact except for a few. The trick I used was to use a Whisper White Cardstock circle on the backside to glue the ornament to. I cut a circle using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. I then used my Paper Piercing Tool to remove a few pieces and the white showed through. Neat huh?

Card Recipe:
  1. Card Base: Bermuda Bay Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold in the center at 5-1/2"
  2. Layer #2: Whisper White Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Glue to card base.
  3. Layer #3: Gold Foil Sheets 4-3/4" x 3-1/2". Emboss using the Pine Bough Embossing Folder at the top. Glue to card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  4. Ornament: Cut one ornament using the Delicate Ornaments Dies. Cut one circle using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. Glue the ornament to the circle. Using a Paper Piercing Tool, remove a few pieces from the inside of the ornament as shown in the photo. Glue to card front. Cut the center of the ornament using the Gold Foil Sheets and glue in the center of the ornament. Add a White Perfect Accent in the center. Glue one hook and ornament topper using the dies and Whisper White Cardstock. Glue in place at the top of the ornament.
  5. Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set on Whisper White Cardstock using Bermuda Bay Ink. Cut out using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits Dies. Trim the left side and tuck under the ornament and glue in place.
Stampin' Up! Supplies:
  • Stamps: Embellished Ornaments
  • Inks: Bermuda Bay
  • Cardstock: Gold Foil, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
  • Accessories: White Perfect Accents
  • Tools: Delicate Ornaments Dies, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits Dies, Pine Bough Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals

  3. I like the pine branch on the gold, it makes for a great background. The bauble is the best though in those colors.
