Ronald McDonald House Workshop!

I decided to do something a little different for the month of October during my local monthly workshop. It was business as usual with no hostess this month. No hostess? Nope! All orders placed were tallied and all hostess rewards were used to purchase some stamping supplies for the local Ronald McDonald House.

Instead of the usual demonstration by me, of two cards and a make-n-take for the attendees, I opted to sit with the girls and have them make two cards using this years designated Ronald McDonald stamp set. Did you know Stampin' Up! has a special stamp set designated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities each year? And for every stamp set sold, $3 goes to RMHC? The program is called Making A Difference which started in 2003 and over $1,000,000.00 has been donated by Stampin' Up! Isn't that the neatest thing to brag about?

How can you help? Next time you place an order, add the "MY HERO" stamp set to your order and we'll donate $3 of your purchase to RMHC. That simple!

My Hero
Clear Mount, Item #141957 $21.00
Wood Mount, Item #141954, $29.000

So here is the first card all the attendees made as a group:

The Umbrella Weather Framelits Dies cut the umbrella shape perfectly for this card. Everything else was stamped flat and we added Stampin' Dimensionals to the umbrella to pop it up. The cute little bow comes from the Santa's Sleigh Thinlits Dies. Notice how the whole card only uses a few colors and we added a pop with the Flirty Flamingo Cardstock bow? It really stands out, doesn't it?

We also used the Fluttering Embossing Folder on the Smoky Slate Cardstock background layer. I used the de-bossed side on this card:

Card Supplies:
  • Stamps: My Hero
  • Inks: Smoky Slate, Mint Macaron
  • Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Smoky Slate, Flirty Flamingo
  • Accessories: Rhinestone Jewels
  • Tools: Fluttering Embossing Folder, Umbrella Weather Framelits Dies, Santa's Sleigh Thinlits Dies, Stampin' Dimensionals
  • DSP: Petals & Paisleys

For Card #2 we used the sentiment as the focal point and again this stamp comes from the My Hero stamp set:

We also added the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set along with the coordinating Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper. Notice the beautiful embossing on the Real Red Cardstock layer? The Pine Bough Embossing Folder looks great paired up with all the other layers:

Card Supplies:
  • Stamps: My Hero, Cookie Cutter Christmas
  • Inks: Crumb Cake, Real Red
  • Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Whisper White
  • Tools: Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Layering Circles Framelits Dies, Pine Bough Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals
  • DSP: Candy Cane Lane
