Woodland & Serene Silhouettes!

I've been playing with inking my Woodland Embossing Folder again. Love this technique! I'll have a video soon. I've had a bad head cold for the past few weeks and my voice is quite sexy right! I did record a few videos for November (one last week) and you'll be able to tell that I'm all stuffed up.

So here are the steps to creating this magnificent inked-up embossing folder technique:

  • Card Base: Basic Gray Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score in the center at 5-1/2" and fold. Use the Curvy Corner Trio Punch to punch the two top corners.
  • Layer #2: Whisper White Cardstock 4" x 5-1/4". Use the Curvy Corner Trio Punch to punch the two top corners. Set aside for a bit.
  • Using a Brayer, roll Soft Sky Ink onto your Woodland Embossing Folder. The side you need to ink up is the side that has the trees indented so that the trees do not have ink on them. Using the flower image from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set, ink the stamp using Cucumber Crush Ink and stamp directly over the Soft Sky Ink on your embossing folder.

  • Place your white cardstock layer inside the embossing folder and run through the Big Shot Machine.
  • Using a Sponge Dauber, lightly sponge Smoky Slate Ink over the trees. I sponged mine in a vertical up and down motion. Very lightly! Glue to card base.
  • Stamp the sentiment on a scrap piece of Basic Gray Cardstock making sure the sentiment is close to the top. Using your Stampin' Trimmer, trim the bottom so that the cut is close to the sentiment but stop when you get to the "y" and skip over the "y". Use your Paper Snips to snip around the "y". Trim the right end into a "V". Trim the cardstock piece so it is about 3" long and glue to card front about 1-1/4" from the top.
  • Cut a circle using Basic Gray Cardstock with the 2" Circle Punch and glue to the card front as shown in the photo.
  • Stamp the butterfly image on Whisper White Cardstock using Basic Gray Ink and cut out using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. Layer over the gray circle using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add 3 Rhinestone Jewels on the stamped circle as shown.
