Beginner's Library Class!

Yesterday I held my Beginner's Class at our local library. This is my second month holding this class and I am having so much fun with the girls. We made two cards during class and this was the first card:

I showed the girls how to repeatedly stamp the branch image to create a partial background. We then added a few flowers overlapped onto the branches. We then stamped two additional flowers on scrap Whisper White Cardstock and cut them out with the coordinating punch. They are both glued in place using Stampin' Dimensionals. The card was completed by stamping the sentiment from the Butterfly Basics stamp set and adding a few Rhinestone Jewels. Here are the supplies we used:

Retired: More Mustard Cardstock

This is card #2:

I showed them how to use the Big Shot Machine to emboss the 2nd layer of this card and also how to layer a flower by adding Stampin' Dimensionals between the layers and bending the petals. Supplies used:

Retired: Primrose Petals Cardstock
Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

  1. Hi Deb. Thanks for sharing the fun cards. I especially like the first one - the birthday card. That greeting from Basic Butterfly really works with so many other sets doesn't it? Do you think substituting Delightful Dijon would work in place of the More Mustard? Or maybe the Hello Honey? I'm hoarding my More Mustard. LOL

What embossing folder did you use on the second card? I can't quite see it since it's so subtle. I bet Calypso Coral would work with that second card too. Love the Bermuda Bay trim. Adding both to my CASE list. Thanks for sharing such wonderful beginner cards!

    1. Hi Jean. I've been a little behind in commenting! I do think the Delightful Dijon would work well for the first card. I do like the new color!

The embossing folder on the 2nd card is the Polka Dot EF. I added Stampin' Dimensionals between the two layers for height. More beginner cards coming soon!

    1. Thanks Carole. I usually have 4-6 people that attend my library classes. The daytime slot seems to be the most popular!
