Control Freaks Blog Hop for August!

Today is our August Blog Hop for the Control Freaks Swappers. I was able to quickly meet part of our group that attended convention in July, shown below. We swapped two cards each that I showed you in an earlier convention post. This is a group photo we took while at convention:
Soooo....for this month, our theme for our blog hop is "Simple & Elegant. You may have arrived to my blog from LeeAnn Greff's blog. Weren't her projects beautiful as usual? She always amazes me with her creativity. If you are starting the blog hop with me, I will direct you to the next stop at the bottom of my post.

Here are my three projects for this month:

I opted to go with a "Curvy Keepsakes Box", a "Seasonally Scattered" card and a box created with the "Gift Box Punch Board". The "Color Me Autumn Designer Paper" was a perfect choice to use on all of my projects, don't you think?

First up is my card:

I stamped the "thanks" image from the "Seasonally Scattered" stamp set with VersaMark Ink and sprinkled White Embossing Powder and heat set. I then sponged the Cajun Craze Ink in the center followed by Mossy Meadow Ink on the outside. If you look closely below, you'll notice some splotches. I used a paint brush and added droplets of water and let them dry on their own:

I also colored some Rhinestone Jewels with my darkest color of Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers. I finished off my card by adding a piece of Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon and a piece of Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon and used the new Handheld Stapler to staple them both in place. I then completed my card by adding a leaf from the Autumn Wooden Elements tied with Linen Thread:

For my box, I used the Gift Box Punch Board to create a 2" x 2" x 2" box. I decorated it with a belly band that slides on and off using the same coordinating elements as my card:

And finally, loving my new toy called the Curvy Keepsakes Box Thinlits Die that made this so simple to create:

I hope you liked my three projects for this month. Next up is Justin Kreiger and I know for sure you are going to just LOVE all of his projects!

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today!
