My "Create" Banner and some Blog Candy!

I am awarding blog candy today so make sure you read my whole post!

When I viewed the banner kits in our Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, one of my first thoughts was, wow, this would make a great banner for my stamp room. My stamp room walls are "Cajun Craze and Calypso Coral" when comparing to the Stampin' Up! color palette. And I just love anything with leaves. So a banner to hang in my stamp room was born:

Fall is my favorite season in Maine with the fall foliage colors which happen to be part of the "Regals Color Family". I mixed and matched various colors of ink and cardstock. Here are close-ups:

I used the Autumn Accents Die for all of my leaves and added embossing using multiple embossing folders:

Notice the polka dots in two of my banners? Our "Sponge Daubers" fit nicely into all of holes for easy coloring. Just press and turn and the color transfers so easily and no mess!

The banner is now hanging in my stamp room and it's one of the first things you see as you enter. I'm pretty proud of this one and I hope you like it too. Let me know what you think please!

And now for Blog Candy!! Do you remember these gift card keepers that I posted way back in July? I was hosting a Stamp Camp to make all 5 of these HERE. Well, I am going to send them out to one lucky winner!

Just leave me a comment today about my banner and you will automatically be entered into a drawing for all five of these gift cards! Deadline to comment is Monday, September 30th. Sorry but I have to limit this to USA comments only due to postage costs involved. Thanks so much!

EDITED: Kathy Toth was chosen as the winner of my blog candy. Kathy, please email me your address so I can send you your package by October 6th! Thanks to all that commented! If Kathy doesn't contact me, I will redraw!

  5. Love your banner! Here in Arizona I don't think we really have what you would call 'fall' but it is getting more chilly in the mornings; does that count? lol

  6. Beautiful!!! I grew up in the Appalachian mountains but moved away after I got married and I miss Fall there so much. It is hard to describe just how beautiful it is to anyone who hasn't seen it. I get homesick just thinking about it, I need to make me a Fall banner to hang in my craft space. Thanks for sharing yours.

  10. I really like how you did your banner. I like the Fall look. It is unique from others as I have seen only Halloween and Christmas. Love the leaves and colors. Nicely done and be able to hang in your craft room.

Really like your 'gift card keepers' and nice of you to give away, eh! They are pretty and so colorful too! Thank you for sharing with us! Lynn Gauthier

  11. I love this banner too! In fact, I wasn't too thrilled with it when I saw it at convention, or in the book. Reason? I don't do much decorating anymore, now that all the kids are grown and gone and they live 2000 miles away. But.... you have given me a great idea to make one for ME, in MY craft room! I never thought of that! Super Duper! Love your fall colors; fall is my favorite time of the year, starting with Halloween. Love this and thanks so much for the inspiration! (oh, and the chance to win those lucious projects!) :-)

  14. Super idea for your banner!! I want one that I can rotate my key holiday elements into it as the season changes. I'm a Minnesota gal who's in love with Autumn, but I like to do my own thing.

  15. I love, love, love your banner and the leaves and colors....am sure it looks fabulous in your craft room! Fall is my most favorite time of the year and it is just beginning here in CA but we now have cool nights and mornings and some leaves beginning to fall....and am looking for trees to change colors...love that! Thanks for the inspiration of your fabulous banner! Have a wonderful weekend!

  16. Debbie: Your banner is gorgeous! I, too, love leaves and fall is my favorite season! I truly love this idea! Right now my room is a work in progress. It has some gross wallpaper that is green stripes with flowers all over. My husband can't figure out why I don't organize and use the room. It is that bad! I guess it was a little girl's room before we bought the house. It is just way too busy and makes me want to run the other way! Of course all the boxes don't help! I think I need to put it on my wish list to get this kit.

Since I never set up the Google acct. I couldn't leave a comment. I didn't know if this would count towards your blog candy or not. I love those gift card holders.

  24. Hi Debbie,

I cannot figure out how to publish my comment on your blog entry as I have no Google account. Hope this counts as I love your banner! I finished my Halloween banner in time to display it for my first class on Saturday. Had lots of nice comments about it. Oh, and blog candy is always fun, especially in autumn. Trick or Treat!

  25. Hi Debbie! Your Autumn create banner is wonderful! I miss my fall trips to your beautiful state now that homework is too hard for the kids to make up. We'll be back someday though. What a true blessing to live in such a gorgeous area! My screensaver is a photo we took on our last fall trip close to Bethel Maine on the most scenic road I've traveled. ; ) Your gift card holders are amazing! I need to remember to always keep some in my stash for year round use. Seems like if I make any, they are used immediately. What a great class to offer your customers.
