Punch Art Bumble Bee!

Bzzzzzzzzzzzz...........My husband Dave is terrified of bees. To the point that if a bee is even just buzzing by, he freaks. I usually have to tell him "okay, move over" and I go take care of it. When it comes to punch art though........isn't this little fella cute?


When the new stamp set "Delicate Doilies" was available for us to purchase, one of the images reminded me of a honeycomb for some reason. So thus was born my "bee". This bee is my own creation.......yes, I came up with this one on my own!


Punches used:
  • Body: Ornament Punch
  • Wings: Large Oval Punch
  • Head: 1" Circle Punch
  • Stripes: Large Oval punch

The wings are made out of Vellum Cardstock, inked with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with Heat & Stick Powder and heat set. Now sprinkle with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat set to give it glitter! Sponge the edges with a Sponge Dauber and Basic Black Ink.

The "honeycomb" was created by repeatedly stamping the doily image with Daffodil Delight Ink.

I'm so happy you stopped in today or should I say.......I'm happy you were just "buzzin" by!

  6. Oh how cute!!! He is the sweetest bumble bee I've ever seen. I can't wait to make one. I too saw honeycomb. lol I knew a guy that freaked over mice... Hugs,

    This is so adorable!! I really love what you've done here. However, I am determined not to like the doily set so don't make me like it!! lol Was there a reason you used heat and stick powder with the embossing powder, or was that a misprint?
